Plan on an afternoon game for this year, more details to follow. This time the alumni & development offices are on board to help get the word out. This year it will be held in conjunction with other reunion activities on campus.
The 2008 Game:
Lacrosse dates back to the mid '80s at Calvin and we had a nice group of guys mostly from the '00-'08 years. The 2008 game was a great starting point and plans are already in the works to make the 2009 game even better.
'05 grad Blake Boehm got things started with a Facebook group and along with word of mouth (6 degrees of Calvin Lax) word made it to Chicago, Baltimore, and North Carolina and the players stepped up.
As far as the game action, the first hour of former vs current players, showed the alumni still had their skills (nearly every one of them received all-conference or all-american in their day) as they put in 7 goals to 5 for the current squad. |
